The Walk of Life

This was a day for walking shoes, so I had to wear bandages where my sandals keep rubbing against my big toes... It was also a day of Kathryn getting pooped on twice, but I'll let you ask her about that.We started the day with the Public Talk and WT study. The speaker had to cancel last minute, and my dad just happened to have a memory stick in his pocket with the Zone-overseers talk on it, so we listened to that instead. Kathryn enjoyed it since it was in english with a swedish interpretor.We met some nice friends in the congregation, Kathryn had a chat with a sister from Australia, and we also met a brother from Guyana.

After the meeting we swung by my aunt's in-laws plot of land where we stole some veggies for later, and then we went back home to eat some spaghetti with meat-sauce that Pelle had left cooking on the stove since last night. Very delicious.Pelle and I played some FIFA on his computer, and then we got some snacks ready (including cava which is basically champagne that can't be called champagne since it isn't from the champagne district in France.) and headed downtown on a train.

We walked all the way through downtown Helsingborg to a huge garden/park where we walked around a bit looking at different plants and even some animals until it was time for the outdoors play that my dad got tickets for.It was a folksey comedy in all swedish, so Kathryn had a little bit of a hard time to get everything, but we still had a good time.After the play we walked down into the fancy area of town, right on the pier with some really nice upper-class condos (by the way, if anyone wants to chip in to get us a 1/2 million dollar apt, we know which one we want :).

We also saw the local palm trees. It was kind of odd to see them in Sweden, but Pelle told us that they imported them from the Bahamas (along with the sand which was really, really soft) and take them indoors for winter.After our train-ride home, we're pretty pooped (Kathryn more than the rest of us :) but faithful as we are we still decided to put up some interesting reading for all you poor dweebs back in Amsterdam. :P
